The HST oven, Heat Soak Test, is auxiliary equipment used after the tempering process to subject tempered glass to a safety heat treatment in accordance with the requirements of the UNI EN 14179 standard.

What the Heat Soak Test treatment is for?

The goal of the HST treatment is to significantly reduce the risk of spontaneous breakage of tempered glass, caused by potential critical nickel sulfide (NiS) inclusions within the pane.

Through a heating and forced hot air circulation system, the glass is uniformly brought to the temperature of 290°C ± 10°C required by the regulation and held there for the necessary time.

During treatment, any panes with critical nickel sulfide inclusions may break inside the oven, preventing the defect from appearing later after installation or delivery to the end customer.
